Arizona Heart Foundation was established in 1971 by Edward B. Diethrich, MD, an internationally renowned cardiovascular surgeon, who set the gold standard for providing professional and public education in cardiovascular disease for over 45 years. Dr. Diethrich believed that non-invasive procedures were critical for proper diagnostic care of cardiovascular issues. So, in 1982, the Arizona Heart Foundation began offering one of the most comprehensive, sonography training programs, around advanced cardiovascular ultrasound techniques, in the greater Phoenix area. Since then, the Arizona Heart Foundation School of Cardiac & Vascular Ultrasound has placed hundreds of sonography technicians around the Valley and has added a stand-alone vascular program, along with its long-standing cardiac program.
